Santini Queens of the Aegean is a race race consisting of only queen stages. Epic climbs are waiting for you to be conquered. This closed-road race takes place in and around Marmaris region, Turkey.
This event will happen at 29th May, 2022.
The ride starts in Marmaris centre and ends in Akyaka Forest Camp. Marmaris is 1,5 hr away from the Dalaman Airport by car.
Early bird fee for the race is 50 Euros (until the exhaustion or 1.500 participant). Santini race jersey is included in the registration fee.
Santini Queens of the Aegean consists of 2 courses, Queen long and Queen short. Long course: Long course is made of 2 queen stages, Kıran and Sarnıç Climbs. It starts from Marmaris, continues with Sarnıç Climb and Kıran climbs, and it ends at Akyaka. 145km distance, 3600m elevation gain. Short course: Short course is made of 1 queen stage, Kıran Climb. It starts from Marmaris, continues with Kıran climb, and it ends at Akyaka. 80 km distance, 2000m.
This race has 2 Queen Stages, Sarnıç and Kıran Climbs. Queen 1, Sarnıç Climb: 10km, 7%, 697m elev gain Queen 2, Kıran Climb: 9km, 10%, 859m elev gain
You should bring your own bike. No option for renting at event area.
Entry into Santini Queens of the Aegean is via website, queenscycling.com. Entries are open since 20th December 2021 and will continue until 1st May or up to 1.500 registrations. You can follow @queens.cycling on instagram account to get more information.
Entry includes an official jersey made by Santini, which you’re required to wear in the race. This jersey has a unique design which takes its color from the blue of the Aegean sea and its motifs from the unique pine forests at Marmaris Region. The fee also includes food and drink at the feed stations (Boost Zones), a finisher medal, pasta party before the race and an after party ticket at the end.
A BOOST ZONE WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU AFTER EACH QUEEN CLIMB STAGE. This is where you gain back all your energy, get your recovery, and enjoy the day! Fresh seasonal fruits from the area, freshly cooked cultural tastes, energy drinks and foods are waiting for you right there. Recovery instruments will help you to regenerate your legs, you can rest and chat with the riders as long as you want.
Santini Queens of the Aegean race needs a training plan because even the short course involves 1.900m elevation gain. The best way to be get ready for this race would be to participate in the cycling camps held in Marmaris at the end of March. Santini Queens of the Aegean starts from Marmaris and ends in Akyaka. You can choose to stay in both towns or any other place at that coastline. It should be warm at the end of May. Average highs sit at around 27°C, with average lows at 23°C. Rainy day probability starts with 15% at the beginning of May and ends with 7% at the end of the month.
The favorite places of the race are of course the queen stages which has the most challenging climbs but with the most beautiful scenery.

Race will start at 7:00 am. The athlete has to observe the time limit. 2 different time limits will be applied. First time limit: Participants must arrive at the Kıran climbing entrance before 12:00. It will not be allowed to enter the climbing stage after the hour has expired. Second time limit: Participants must pass the finish line before 15:30.
Boost zones are designed for any type of need. Medical assistance will be available at 2 Boost Zone points at the top of Sarnıç and Kıran Climbs.

One of the most common ways travellers use to reach Marmaris is via Dalaman Airport. Located at a distance of 95km east of the city, Dalaman Airport serves both, international and domestic flights. During the summer season, there are charter international flights from the major European cities.
